Department Details:

The department has been equipped with tools and equipment. The equipment has greatly improved the quality of training in the department. The institute has also supplemented in supplying the equipment and materials needed for training. Although Automotive Engineering courses attract few female students, female students are encouraged to enroll for Engineering courses since they stand high chances of getting employment faster.

• Craft Certificate in Automotive Engineering (modular) - KNEC
• Artisan Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics - KNEC

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE DEPARTMENT

• Market the courses offered and encourage female students to join the courses to increase their chances of employment opportunities.
• The department plans to start a driving school as part of the curriculum implementation and also use the school as one of the strategies to raise revenue for the department.
• The vehicle services intended to be offered to the customers would include vehicle repair and maintenance, panel beating and spray painting, car washing and vacuuming.
