Message From the Head Of Department Mechanical

The department has been equipped with tools and equipment. The equipment has greatly improved the quality of training in the department. The institute has also supplemented in supplying the equipment and materials needed for training. Although Automotive Engineering courses attract few female students, female students are encouraged to enroll for Engineering courses since they stand high chances of getting employment faster. The Mechanical Engineering opened its doors to students after the inception of the Institute. Since then, it has continued to train students in various courses and has grown both in infrastructure, staff and student population. The Department admits students from all parts of Kenya with the relevant minimum qualifications. The other courses are offered both in the main campus and the town campus. Students are examined by the Kenya National Examinations Council. To add to the good overall results, the Department also produced the first ever candidate with an overall distinction for the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (plant option).
